Hi,

My name is Rickey and Im new to this website and I send in one of my movie and it says:Deriver completed successfully. Waiting for a curator to review and approve the files.
Waiting for a curator to approve the inclusion of this item. Once approved, the item will be moved to its permanent location. So who is the curator?

Me.

LOL. Seriously, I have no idea how many people have curatorial access, but one of us has to take a look at it, to make sure, you know, no funny business is going on (copyrights etc) and then we can approve it.

Problem is, Jon (the big guy here!) is fiddling with the curatorial engine right now, so it PROBABLY won't be okayed till at least tommorow night.

I guess I'm one of the fabled 'curators' for Open-Source Movies, and while it's true that the Etree shows are being held in preparation for audio derivations for tomorrow, as far as I'm aware (!), no such hold is in place for Open-Source Movies, so I checked and approved the 2 or 3 movies that were waiting.

I did notice that one of the file sizes seemed a little small, but that might just be a well-encoded movie - approved movie uploaders can yell if there are any problems.

[EDIT: Just checked it, and this movie is the only one that I know of at the Archive where the animated thumbnail images are bigger in size than the actual movie - genius!]

Thanks,
s!

Is there an unusual delay now? I've got a couple of movies waiting, one of them for about ten days. Just curious.

I think we're waiting for some official word on rights issues for your first upload, Trafalgar. As for your second upload, I just checked it out and approved it - it's a neat subversive Prelinger remix :)

For anyone else who's waiting, I'm going to approve all the pending movies I can (and hopefully divide off the Brick Films section, for which we now have official approval) v.soon.

s!

Thanks!! For the work, and for the compliment.
Yeah, I wasn't sure about that first one, but I figured you're the experts, so I'd let you sort out the "issues"...

p.s. I don't know if you have anything to do with the thumbnails or not, but they didn't come out right on "Come Join the Fun!"...thanx again.
